How To Install WhatsApp Desktop App - step by step

WhatsApp The most famous instant messaging app used now a days now has over a billion users. As the user base is growing rapidly Whatsapp is also launching more ways to keep users connected with each other. To give flexibility for the users to use WhatsApp out of the mobile WhatsApp Web was launched last year in Jan 2015, now they have made an announcement for WhatsApp Desktop App. Now you can use WhatsApp on your computer using desktop client without keeping your browser open


How to Use WhatsApp Desktop App


Step 1: Go to https://www.whatsapp.com and click on “Download” in top menu.

Step 2: Download supported version of desktop app for your desktop client. If you are using Mac click on “Mac OS X 10.9 and higher”. If you are using Windows 8 Click on “Windows 8 and higher (64-bit version)”/”Windows 8 and higher (32-bit version)”. To know which version of windows you are using click on My Computer –> Properties.

Step 3:
Now after installing you will see WhatsApp Icon on desktop. When you open it will ask you to login by scanning QR code. Now Open your mobile WhatsApp –> Settings –> WhatsApp web. Scan the QR.

That’s IT. Now you will be able to see the all WhatsApp conversation, contacts in desktop app.

Advantages of WhatsApp Desktop App over WhatsApp Web


In the first look there doesn’t look much difference in WhatsApp Desktop App and WhatsApp Web in both you can send messages, attachments, record voice messages, send pictures, and manage your message history but certainly there are.

  •     In Desktop app you can use All the keyboard shortcuts to faster your chats.
  •     You do not need to keep your browser open always. As this is desktop app even if you close it. It will keep running in background you will still receive all notifications on your desktop.


Limitation of WhatsApp Desktop App


Desktop app is only launched for Mac OS X 10.9 and higher, Windows 8 and higher (64-bit/32 bit). So for the people using lower versions still have to use WhatsApp web.
